Crest Opinions:
I believe that the plants are related to Vineyards.
There was a piece of land in Germany (Palatinate) that seemed to have
passed from father-to-son a few times, commonly referred to as
"Owned the vineyard near the garden at the cross at Leimen from nnnn-nnnn."
The "griffin-like" figure may be a symbol of celebration after the Harvest.
The three round circles may be wine vats.
The container under the cross may be a religious container for 'the Body & Blood of Christ' a.k.a. Wine.
