Notes Jan 2022, from Mer:   ReamstownCemetery-Ream-ReddigCemeteryRow10.pdf
I got this from the Historical Society of Cocalico Valley... here is who is buried in Row #10 of the Ream-Redding Cemetery, which includes our ancestor Eberhard Ream, and his son Nicolas. I am told this was a family cemetery when these two were interred so there is no deed or record of any purchase and no money changed hands, etc. I honestly am not sure who compiled this recap which includes some references to info from what Denniston published so I'm not sure how much of this anyone could use for any lineage societies or such.. but still.. I thought it a wonderful document to pass along for anyone who is interested in this much info. I'm going to try and find out more about who compiled this... it's an interesting read. In addition to the attached for Row 10, I am getting a 41 page recap of every Ream that is interred at this site.

Notes Jan 2022, from Mer:   ReamstownCemetery-Ream-ReddigCemetery-CompleteList-41-Pages.pdf       See Row #10 for Eberhardt and his wife Elizabeth.
The Historical Society of Cocalico Valley has now sent me the comprehensive list of everyone that was interred here as of this 1972 list. It is not in alphabetical order but some names that will be familiar to many (and that go back to the 1700s/early 1800s) are in Row 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15.

Thank you to The Historical Society of Cocalico Valley which has been so helpful and responsive. An individual membership is $30.   https://www.cocalicovalleyhs.org/memberships

    Ream Cemetery
    Ursina, PA
Laurel Hill Creek, Ursina, Somerset County, PA
The earliest known burial was in 1787 on land settled by Andrew Ream along the Laurel Hill Creek in Ursina. Turkeyfoot Valley. Along with some of the early settlers in the area, a few Revolutionary War veterans are buried here. Some stones are engraved in German and some were carved by Andrew Ream. A cement wall was erected around the cemetery in 1911 by Norman Bruce Ream to preserve the grave site of his ancestors. The last burial there was in 1926. It is presently maintained by the Ream Cemetery Association, formed in 1990.
( This Andrew Ream (1737-1835) was the son of Abraham (b.1718), son of Eberhardt. )

D.Ream comments June 2006: I am reasonably certain that the grave marking is incorrect is saying that Abraham was born in 1737. Remember that his father, Nicholas Ream, was born in 1721. A father at age 16? Not likely, especially when you consider that Abraham was Nicholas's third child (following Sarah and John). I have always believed as you do, that Abraham was born in 1747 (or 1749). The 1817 death date is probably accurate. American flag is provided by the DAR to mark the grave of a Revolutionary War soldier (even if he was only in the Lancaster County militia and never saw any real warfare). The church and the adjoining cemetery are on top of a low hill in some very picturesque countryside near the village of Tusseyville. This is in Centre County, not too far from State College.
