. . . . . . (Some lists show a 12th child "John Riehm", I think this is confusion with "Johann")

1h) 1st Son Johann Jacob,   b. June 1712 Leiman,   m. 1735 Christina b. 1717 France.   6 children all born Muddy Creek PA: Abraham b. 1736, Barbara 1738, Issac 1740, Jacob 1743. Daniel 1745, and Elisabeth 1752.

1m) Daughter Susanna m.1750 Daniel Difft, same Difft as 2c) below.
1n) Vinnie Ream, descendent of Mathias/Matthias (1726-1789) via her Father, AND descendent of Nicholas and then Abraham via her grand mother. Family tree.
1o)  2nd Son Abraham b.1718 "The Tavern Keeper", d. 1783
Find-a-grave, had quite a few sons (maybe 14, wife Joanna Marie (Anna) Leinback), many with similar names as his nephews, especially "Abraham" and "Andrew", which are points of potential confusion on many lists.
. . . . This Abraham b.1718 is not the same as my lineage #3) Abraham further below.
. . . . . We know of at least three of Abraham b.1718 children's names: Abraham Jr. "the Miller" (1746-1824), Andrew Ream "the Drummer Boy" (1760-1845) (His DAR record says b.1960, not 1763) m. Barbara Schwartzwaller, and Juliana m. Rupp
. . . . . One of Abraham b.1718 sons was:
. . . . . . Abram (Abraham Jr?) (1746-1824) "the Miller", Find-a-grave, who moved from Reamstown to Fairheld County Ohio in 1798, who settled in Sugar grove Ohio (then Ream's Mill).   See: A genealogical history of the Ream family in Fairfield County, Ohio 1908 pdf   source
. . . . . . | This Abraham b.1746, m. Rosannah, 14 children. six sons and eight daughters, of this number twelve were born in PA.
. . . . . . | This Abraham b.1746, had a son named Andrew (1760-1845), the "Drummer Boy", adding to the Andrew name confusion. His DAR record says b.1960, not 1763. See notes bottom of Norman Bruce Ream
. . . . . . | This Abraham b.1746, had a son named Sampson Ream (1777-1851)   m. Anna Stukey (sister of Judge Joseph Stukey),   13 children
. . . . . . | This Abraham b.1746, had a daughter named Mary Ream Stukey 1793–1857. The Stukey with Reams started here with Sampson & Mary. All original settler families in Ohio Ream's Mill.
. . . . . . | This Abraham b.1746, one example Lineage: Abraham (b1718), son Abraham (b1746), son Absalom (b1785), son Abraham (b1822), son Thomas Abraham (b1848), son Leonidias (b1873).

1p) Son Andrew (1737-1813) was an ancestor of Norman Bruce Ream.   Andrew was a Captain in the Revolutionary War (2nd Company 3rd Batt. PA Militia) Document, he left Lancaster Co.in 1787, with his family of eight sons. He settled in Bedford now Somerset Co., PA, where he died in 1813. Grave Stone with wife Susanna, are buried in the Ream Cemetery at Ursina. The Andrew name is also a point of confusion, because Nicholas had a son Andrew(b.1757), and Abraham also had a son Andrew (b.1763), and others.   This Andrew is not the "Drummer boy", Andrew (1760-1845) His DAR record says b.1960, not 1763) , son of brother Abraham b.1746 as noted above. See notes bottom of Norman Bruce Ream,

2b) Nicholas was a weaver, and had little interest in farming.

b. Aug 24, 1749 (or 1747) Eberhardt's farm in Lancaster County
d. Aug 1817 His farm in Haines Township, Centre County, PA.   Buried in Tusseyville, PA.
Abraham's Grave Stone incorrectly says b.1737, it's actually 1749 or 1749, see Dave's written comments Cemetery Notes
This means that the findagrave.com webpage stone for Abraham Ream (1749-1817) is the actual stone but has the wrong year of birth etched. At least as of my writing this 2017.
As a matter of fact, the webpage on findagrave.com also has the wrong 'father' for Abraham listed as being Jacob while Nicholas is correct.
And his DAR record has it listed correctly as 1749.   Ancestor #: A093967. Daughters of the American Revolution, DAR Genealogical Research Databases.
The grave stone is the accurate stone, and wrong year, but because of the year-of-birth confusion folks research becomes messy quickly.

Our Heritage:
What is our non-American origin? Or, to ask it another way, to which countries in Europe can we trace our ancestry, the answer would probably be something like: "mostly English, with some Scottish and Irish thrown in, and one strong line of German." In short, like most Americans, we are a mixture. One fact that does tie us more closely to Germany is that we know exactly which place in Europe the Riehms lived just before migrating to America. And we do have lots of living "cousins" in that town. We are not able to say the same about the Biggses, the Davidsons, the Haneses, et al. One of my genealogical research goals is to find some of those other villages in Europe.   --- Dave Ream   (April 2001)

I cannot verify any Irish blood in our Ream or Biggs roots. Cassander Hanes (OM's mother) dubbed her Hanes roots as "Scotch Irish." I suspect that that meant that her ancestors came from Northern Ireland, which was then (and still is today) fiercely independent of the Catholics that dominate the rest of Ireland.
The Biggs-Davidson line is all English, except for the Davidson Scots. Note that, with no exceptions, every one of those ancestors was a Protestant, of one denomination or another.   --- Dave Ream   (March 2005)

RIEHM-REAM GENEALOGY by Norman Whisler "Whitey" Ream (1873-1961), president of the Ream Family Association of America for many years ~1930, 111 pages.

Forest Vernon Ream book: "Some Early American Ream and Allied Families" 1977 - 727 pages.   PDF    His Ream linege as shown above is on page 91/113.
There is another book named "Ream Family History and Genealogy", 1977 - 705 pages, which is actually in the above book, starting at about page 24.
Comments shared from a family member: The book is from 1977 and is just over 700 pages. It is somewhat centered around members of the Ream Family Historical Society. Pages 91 through 291 are the lineages of each member, nearly 1000, but in order of membership, so they are not arranged by family AT ALL. Pages 292 through the end are records of the Pennsylvania Archives, in order of their "Series", which seems somewhat random.

Example; I'm generation #9 shown on this page, Johann Eberhardt Riehm is #1, that's 9 generations.
I have 256 ancestors at the same generation as with Eberhardt. Aka 256 Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-GrandParents, aka 6th Great-GrandParents. Eberhardt is one of 256 for me.

See Ream Field Plaque: In 1918, it was renamed in honor of Army Major William Roy Ream, the first flying surgeon of the American Army and the first flight surgeon killed in an aircraft accident.

Unrelated to Major Ream above, but of occasional inquiry interest...       Ream Naval Base in Cambodia    and   Ream National Park in Cambodia       The Cambodian Ream Naval Base name is unrelated to any Ream person.   In Cambodia "Ream" was originated in a Cambodian Poem named Reamker.   In this 7th century poem the hero is some guy named Preah Ream who is an incarnation of the Hindu god Vishnu.   The poem and story is a national epic of Cambodia.   Hence the region land area is called Ream.   The wider region near the base also includes the Ream National Park which was established in 1993 and just took on the name of the region.   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reamker
